WITH YOUR HELP, I WILL Continue to WORK FOR A CALABASAS THAT
Becomes Even SAFER
As a City that first hand experienced one of the largest wildfires in California history, we know that disaster preparedness is something that we need to work on and improve everyday. I represented the City of Calabasas on the Woolsey Fire Task Force and first hand communicated our city’s frustrations with evacuations and troubled countywide communications. As Mayor, my first order of business was gathering all HOA’s and neighborhoods to meet with Sheriff and Fire to discuss future evacuations and issues that they experienced during the Woolsey Fire. I will continue to work to improve emergency plans and communications, so our community is even safer the next time a fire hits Calabasas. There is no longer a fire season, but a year long concern to address these issues.
Becomes Even SMARTER
Calabasas has some of the best civic plans for our future, but new technologies are enabling communities to plan for events, eliminating traffic snarls, and communicate in ways that were just not thought of even five years ago. Calabasas needs to be a leader in using the best of emerging technology. As a Councilmember, I am part of the Wireless Communication Task Force where we are working to improve wireless services to our community. Currently Calabasas has subpar cellular service and this impacts residents everyday and especially during emergencies. Calabasas cannot be a first rate community, without improved technologies.
Becomes EVEN BETTER
This means for all residents from seniors to young families, residents, and small business owners. Calabasas is different from so many surrounding communities because of our open space, community programming and the hard work it takes from every part of the community to protect and enhance what we have. This means protecting our open space, making Calabasas government even more transparent for all residents, and making sure that Calabasas is represented when state decisions impact our community. I will continue to use my public policy background to ensure that the voice of Calabasas is represented when state laws are considered that could impact Calabasas. As a Councilmember and Mayor, I have always made sure that government was open and responsive to all, even when the physical doors had to be closed because of COVID-19. I have hosted community coffees that have been open to the entire community, corresponded weekly to the community during pandemic and have made myself available to all residents.
